Luxury fashion label used the Maasai colors, red and blue, checkered patterns and applied them onto various items of clothing during their Spring/Summer men's collection in 2012. It was considered to be cultural appropriation as it is the Maasai's cultural brand and most powerful images of the tribal Africa. It's really disrespectful of the brand to use their prints without the permission of the Maasai people or not even compensate them for the items sold. It's inconsiderate that the brand did not think that the Maasai population in Kenya and Tanzania are living below the poverty line yet use their iconic cultural brand and not giving them credit.
