Jewelry Design

While taking a Jewelry course, I was able to learn about the elements and principles to create a good looking, aesthetic piece of jewelry. I started off by practicing jewelry techniques such as knotting, beading, and wire manipulation using the jewelry tool kit to create a variety of statement pieces. Then, I was introduced to the Rhino software, which is a 3D computer application software, to create 3D objects. In addition to using the software, we also learned how to load and run the 3D printer as well as the resources and materials related to printing. Overall, it was a challenging course but most definitely fun! I am now knowledgeable of jewelry terminology and the common techniques used to create jewelry.

Bead Wire Necklace

  • Materials used:

    • Bead Cord

    • Beads

    • Clasps

  • I took into consideration the pattern, harmony, proportion, balance, and emphasis to create an attractive bead wire necklace

  • The aesthetic this necklace gives is freedom and peace as the beads and colors that are I chose are fun and different than one another bringing out ta vibrant personality

Tree of Life Pendant

  • Materials used:

    • Wire Jig

    • Beads

    • Wrapping wire

    • Circular metal ring

  • To create the Tee of Life Pendant it was necessary to use the tool kit to be able to wrap the wire around the ring. I started by intertwined the wire to create the trunk and then added 2-3 beads as the leaves

  • The goal was to create an aesthetic that embraces the origins of the Tree of Life and the Celtic culture. I wanted it to represent the forces of nature combined that creates balance and harmony in one's life. The target customer for this piece is those who believe in the meaning behind the tree of life.

Ring

  • Materials used:

    • Rhino software

    • 3D printer materials

  • To create this ring we first learned about cast ring, ring sizes, and metals. I made holes on the ring of my name "Eimy." Once the ring was finalized, I render my wing using Rhino tools. Finally, I uploaded it to Shapeways to select a material of my choice to find how much it would cost if I were to order it

  • This ring was designed for those who like chunky yet simple ring bands that give an empowering look to the hand.

Statement Necklace

  • Materials used:

    • Rhino software

    • Chain

    • 3D printing materials

  • To begin this project, I first hand drew the design and then created a prototype using a 3D pen. To create this statement piece I used a variety of tools using Rhino software such as shape tools, extrude, and make holes that worked with the piece. All the material is 3D printed beside the chain used to attach the pieces together

  • I used the color red for the pieces and gold for the chain to create a combination that screams fire and compassion. This necklace is meant for those who want to make a big impression when wearing it as it is large and over-the-top in design. It could be paired with an all black or white outfit as the necklaces create the focal point for the outfit.
