About this Project
From tracksuits to cutout dresses at red carpets, Bella Hadid's style is always on point and my personal favorite. For this project, I decided to look back at some of Bella's iconic outfits that resemble early fashion trends. I also put together some outfits for different occasions based on her personal style.
Bella Hadid
Model
Bella Hadid is an American Model who signed to IMG Models in 2014 and has kept a successful career since. She’s highly known for her interesting sense of fashion as she loves to play around with a variety of styles and trends. When she first started her modeling career, she opted for more simple and very casual looks and mostly wore current trends that were hot at the moment, natural makeup looks, and kept it quite modest for the most part. Not too mesmerizing to keep it honest! However, her sense of fashion has become the most interesting and amazing to get inspiration from these past two years. Her personal style is constantly featured in magazines, blogs, and fashion websites where they admire the creativity of her looks and her love for rocking historically fashion trends. She enjoys adding her own spin to her favorite fashion decade: the Nineties.  She shows off a mix of sexy and sporty all at the same time which has helped her develop a signature style that distinguishes from the rest. Her favorite fashion pieces are crop tops, tracksuits, thigh-high slit gowns, and miniskirts. She’s also seen carrying miniature handbags, high ponytails, denim on denim, and micro-glasses, just to mention a few of her favorites.
Outfits Inspired by a Different Clothing Period
90's
Bella delivered the ultimate '90s look with a pair of skinny sunglasses that matched perfectly with her vinyl-looking bright red Burberry trench coat. She layered it with black zip-up hoodies and a black turtleneck. She completed this look with straight-led (her ultimate favorite) light-wash jeans and Dr. Martens.
Space Age
The model was spotted in a metallic belted coat and patent leather slingback heels. Hairstyle, coat, and heels are highly inspired by the Space age from the 1960s. This trend consisted of designers creating their collection inspired by the first human that orbited the Earth during the period. Designers like Pierre Cardin and André Courrèges designed their own versions of the futuristic, outer-space trend that define the decade and continues being a trend proudly brought back by models like Bella Hadid.
the tracksuit
Bella is often seen in comfy tracksuits where she rocks it day and night for any occasion. Tracksuits were first worn in the 1970s and made a huge come back in the 1990s by both women and men. Celebrities, rappers, and signers all adapted to this trend and having brands like Juicy Couture offers high-end tracksuits as part of their line. Bella completed this look with her favorite skinny glasses, which are the latest fashion cue ripped from The Matrix (the also late 90s), and a pair of Nikes.
Biker Jacket
While out in the streets of Paris, she opted for an oversized black patent leather blazer over a turtleneck, with leather pants, a red mini purse, white and black stilettos, and small rose-tinted sunglasses. This look, including the choices of jewelry, was also highly inspired by the late '90s and early 2000s, although the black leather jacket, also referred to as the biker jacket, was originally worn in the early 20th century.
60's
In a red leather coat dress and white boots that screamed 1960's! She rocked this look with a high ponytail and by pairing two essentials during the period but most importantly, the white boots that were first introduced during the Space age and also seen in the hippie fashion.
Checkered Coat
This look is well mixed with our current fashion trends while also inspired by the '90s once again. In a leather beret, thin black sunglasses by Roberi & Fraud, red hoop earrings, Alexander Wang fanny pack (1880's), biker shorts (90's), and Christian Dior patent-leather slingback pumps while out in Paris.
Historic Style: The 80's
work
The work attire will consist of what the '80s were all about.. bright colors! She will adapt to a modernized bright yellow suit, who is often seen in suits; with blue pumps and blue eyeliner, which is in Bella's makeup routine. She will also keep it simple with the hairstyle but a little volume to represent the 1980's.
Formal Meeting
As we know, Bella likes to bring back historic looks but also gives her a sense of sexiness into it. This is something the model would wear to a formal meeting while embracing her personality as well. Bella likes to keep her colors dark, especially in her clothing. In addition, we'll be adding a scrunchy to her signature high ponytail.
Formal Evening
The '80s were all about big prints and bold colors. Bella will be wearing a leopard coat styled with a simple little black dress and keeping accessories minimal fro from looking over the top at a formal evening event. She prefers small shoulder bags rather than big ones, as well as small ear studs.
The 80's Theme Party
The perfect 80's statement piece - spandex - for a custom party based on the 1980s. This decade is all about workout gear and that's what Bella chooses to wear on days she's just out and about. This spandex will be paired up with her staple "Ugly Sneakers" that she wears often. Her makeup will be bolder than the usual with bright color and her hair will be curled, in which she doesn't do too often but looks amazing.
Fun
The '80s were all about the variety of colors in patterns in one outfit. Bella will be wearing an oversized colorful blazer, a favorite of hers, that matches her pants. This look will be completed with purple pumps and a black bowler hat for a fun date night with her friends.
The Photo-Shoot
70's Disco Fashion
This photoshoot will be influenced by the disco era from the 1970s. It will be taking place at a nightclub with many disco balls and a rainbow of lighting. Bella’s clothing for this photoshoot will consist of a variety of outfits such as sequin/glittery dresses, wrap dresses, metallic dresses and shoes, jumpsuits, spandex, bell-bottoms paired with halter-neck tops, and several platforms boots and heels of all color. She will be accessorized with lots of sequins, feathers, and bright makeup as well as volumized hair. The top or the bottoms will shine but not both at the same time unless it’s a jumpsuit. Tops are going to be loose, sleeveless and cropped. Other pieces of clothing and accessories include gold sandals, big dangle earrings, chokers, and plastic jewelry, flare pants, and sweatbands. Belts that are either leather, shiny vinyl, glittery or tie sashes.
